Goalkeeper Billy Turley tips Brackley Town for success
Turley joins a number of former Oxford United players at Brackley
Goalkeeper Billy Turley has tipped Brackley Town for success this season after joining the Southern League Premier side this summer.
Turley is among a number of high-profile former Football League players recruited by the Saints and he says they can push for promotion.
"Brackley are only going in one direction and that's up," said Turley.
"They are are an ambitious club and I like that. I wouldn't have signed for them if they couldn't push on."
The 36-year-old was released by Oxford United at the end of last season and Turley believes the move to St James Park is the right one at this stage in his career.
Turley said: "I could have gone to a couple of teams in the Football League and the Conference but the time is right at my age to carry on playing football while having some more free time.
"I want to finish my coaching badges and set up a few businesses because you can be a long time out of football. It has all worked out perfectly for me and I am really looking forward to it."
Brackley manager Jon Brady has also added former Millwall defender Marcus Bignot, midfielder Barry Quinn and former Rushden and Diamonds midfielder Jon Challinor to his squad.
