Oxford United goalkeeper Billy Turley has received glowing tributes for his attitude from manager Chris Wilder.
The U's boss has praised the 36-year old's positivity in a season of limited appearances after a rare start in the 1-0 win over Wrexham.
"He wants the football club to do well, and he has put that ahead of personal interest," Wilder told BBC Oxford.
"We are really grateful and whatever happens next year he has been great for this football club."
Turley received a hero's applause after a spectacular save in Tuesday's game at the Kassam Stadium.
Although the rested Ryan Clarke remains first choice, Wilder says Turley would not let anyone down in the upcoming Blue Square Premier play-offs.
Wilder said: "He is part of a squad and might be used. You never know what is around the corner.
"If something did happen to Ryan then he is waiting and good enough to go in and not weaken the side."
