Huddersfield defender Leigh Franks has joined Oxford United on a six-month loan deal following a trial spell.
The 19-year-old centre-back has one year left on his contract with the Terriers and has been playing for the U's in pre-season.
Franks said: "This is the ideal chance to get out and try to play a few games.
"Centre-half is a difficult place for a young player to get a chance but I have come here looking for the opportunity to show what I can do."
He added: "As a player you've got to strive to improve, whether you're on trial or not. There is always pressure to perform in every game.
"You are judged on your last match no matter what and I want to approach things positively. You have to aim as high as you can and although I know it's not going to be easy holding down a place I'm looking forward to the challenge ahead."
