Harrogate Town have offered terms to left-back Paul Talbot, who has been on trial at the club.
Talbot, 30, spent last season at Spennymoor United but has previously played for Burton Albion and Gateshead.
Manager Simon Weaver told BBC Radio York: "He's come in, he's trained ever so well.
"I've not had a moment's problem at all with him. He's a very dedicated fit lad. I think he looks very comfortable on the ball."
Weaver added: "I think he's got that hard edge that I'm looking for in every player."
