Truro City were unable to build on a strong start as they lost to Eastleigh in their opening game of the South West Challenge Cup in Holsworthy.
The Tigers took the lead against Eastleigh shortly after kick off when defender Arran Pugh headed in.
In the second half Eastleigh came back and equalised through a penalty from striker Jamie Slabber after 60 minutes.
The winner came quickly afterwards with Staforde Palmer putting the Hampshire side 2-1 in front.
Truro play Leyton Orient in the second and final Pool B group game on Thursday evening in Elmore.
