Rain ends Cornwall's hopes of win in Shropshire

Cricket

Cornwall's Minor Counties clash with Shropshire was brought to a premature end as heavy rain led to play being abandoned on Tuesday.

The game has been declared a draw with Cornwall taking 10 points and Shropshire getting nine.

Only 2.3 overs were bowled on Tuesday as the weather made conditions in Whitchurch unplayable.

Shropshire were 171-2 in their second innings when play was abandoned, with a lead of 122 runs.

Cornwall were bowled out for 252 on Monday, in reply to Shropshire's first innings total of 202.

Keith Parsons top scored for Cornwall with 70, while Dan Davis made 48 and Tom Sharp 24.
