Shropshire recovered from a slow start to edge ahead of Cornwall on day two of their Minor Counties game on Monday. Cornwall started the day on 84-3 in reply to Shropshire's 202 all out, and reached 252 before they lost all of their wickets shortly after lunch. In their second innings, Shropshire quickly set about reducing the arrears and were 80-2 at tea. The home side then pushed on to end the day on 144-2, a lead of 95 with eight wickets in hand. Keith Parsons top scored for Cornwall in their first innings with 70, while there were useful contributions from Dan Davis [48] and Tom Sharp [24]. Chris Murtagh [41] and Rob Foster [43] remain at the crease for Shropshire going into the third and final day's play at Whitchurch.
