King's Lynn Town to play in United Counties Premier
A new box office is being built at The Walks for the start of the season
Kings Lynn Town will start their campaign next season in the United Counties Premier League.
The new club, who will play in level five of the non-league pyramid, were formed after the Linnets were wound up for failing to pay a tax bill.
Operation manager Jonathan Chapman said: "You always want to be where you feel wanted.
"And it was quite clear the UCL Premier were desperate to have a big club like King's Lynn in it."
The league is mainly made up of teams located to the west of King's Lynn, from areas including Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire and Lincolnshire.
The side will have to travel up to 90 miles away to compete in the league, but Chapman says competing in the Ridgeons League Premier Division was not an option.
We're going in at the Premier level and it's brilliant

"We didn't really get much support from the Ridgeons Premier League, maybe it seemed like a threat to some of the teams and they were not backing us to be in it.
"They could have moved us down to level six, which wouldn't have been very good. This way we're going in at the Premier level and it's brilliant."
The decision was made by the Football Association and Chapman insists the new side will be competitive.
"Kevin Boon and Gary Setchell feel confident we can put a team together that will compete at the top of the league, and we're going all out to get promotion in that first year.
"The outlook for the season is exciting as fans will have an improved stadium to watch the football from.
"We're going to create a lot better atmosphere so I would say it's something for fans to look forward to," Chapman said.
