Buster's Stars won the Premier League treble this season

King's Lynn Stars' speedway promoter Buster Chapman could provide money and expertise to reform King's Lynn FC after they were wound up on Wednesday.

Chapman's late bid to save Lynn was rejected by the Football Association as he does not have a limited company.

He told BBC Radio Norfolk: "I have been involved - we've been looking at it for a few weeks now. I'm very interested.

"The club needs time, attention and money but time and attention are the most important things."

He continued: "The money was in place on Monday morning and we decided to proceed, but unbeknown to us the FA had sent a letter saying they wouldn't take a private individual as the person to take over the club - so that was it for me.

"I've never had a limited company, never owned a limited company and don't intend to so that really blew everything out of the water."

Without the finances in place, King's Lynn's lawyers could not offer any new evidence at the High Court and the club was officially folded.

Chapman's Stars won a Premier League treble for the second time this year and he wants to see their sporting neighbours back in business.

He said: "The speedway side and the football club need each other.

"I'm very interested [in being part of the club's future]. With the knowledge we have of running the stadium [The Norfolk Arena] we could make it work."

The Linnets were in the Unibond Premier Division this season following their demotion in the summer for problems with The Walks ground. But Chapman is unperturbed.

He said: "Speedway was the same when I took over - it was a black hole.

"You have to be very strict with what you spend and gradually build on it. You can't buy success - you have to build it.

"I still believe that can happen in any sport if you bring a bunch of lads together - I'm sure King's Lynn Football Club could do that."
