Scarborough Athletic suffer from lack of matches

Brian France
France has been in charge since the club formed in 2007

Scarborough Athletic have blamed their poor form on injuries and the recent disruption caused by the bad weather.

Athletic have played just two games in the Northern Counties East League since 12 December.

Defeats by Hallam and league leaders Bridlington Town have seen Scarborough slip to sixth place.

Boss Brian France told BBC Radio York: "We don't look the same side because the passing isn't there and it's also your continuity."

He added: "It's been broken and you've got to get it back together."

Scarborough trail leaders Bridlington by 19 points with three games in hand.

"The thing was a lot of teams got the odd game in. We've had nothing. I don't know if we've lost a bit of confidence," France continued.

"This season I think it's got to be a learning thing for us and then next season hopefully we can put it right and get going again."
