Scarborough want to move back to their home town from Bridlington
Scarborough Athletic have launched a fundraising scheme to help the club return to play in the town.
Athletic have been based at Bridlington since they was formed in 2007 after Scarborough FC was liquidated.
Communications director James Hunter told BBC Radio York he wants the 'Back 2 Boro' fund to take the club forward.
"Bridlington's been fantastic to us," he said. "But for the progression and future of the club we need to get back into Scarborough as soon as possible."
He added: "It's the be-all and the end-all of the club.
"Playing away from town - although it has been a fantastic success on the pitch and off the pitch - actually playing in Scarborough means everything to everyone involved with the club."
One of the aims of the scheme is to continue to raise the awareness both locally and nationally of the club's desire to play in Scarborough and rise through the leagues.
Hunter said the other aim is to raise money which can be invested in a new venue.
"It's there to raise funds which will ultimately help with that return home," he said.
"Whether that's in terms of being invested in facilities and equipment at a council-built stadium, which is something we're still hoping may happen, or even possibly finance the planning of building of a brand new stadium for the club.
"But the Back 2 Boro scheme is set up as a bit of an impetus to get some money involved to help us to push forward and do those things."
