Boston United joint-manager Rob Scott believes a broken nose sustained by striker Mikel Suarez will help toughen him up.
The frontman picked up the injury in the Pilgrims' 5-2 UniBond Challenge Cup quarter-final win over FC Halifax at York Street on Tuesday night.
"He's a lovely lad, but at times I think he's a bit too nice," Scott told BBC Lincolnshire.
"He needs to toughen up a bit. He lets people bully him."
Scott added: "For his size, there shouldn't be anyone out there bullying him and maybe that's a wake-up call he might need.
"He's got a whack. He says he got elbowed. That's what centre-forwards should have, isn't it? That's what they used to have in the old days!
"Obviously we hope he will be okay, but it's a broken nose and it's not going to stop him from running around so hopefully we'll be able to call on him on Saturday."
Suarez was amongst the Pilgrims' scorers as they eased past FC Halifax, with Marc Newsham (2), Spencer Weir-Daley and Danny Davidson netting the other goals.
"The first half we were very good, the second half not so good. But it's a quarter-final win against a team that are at the top of their league so we've got to be pleased on that score," Scott said.
