Boston United's Rob Scott blasts Pilgrims as 'too nice'
Boston's joint boss Rob Scott wants his side to toughen up
Frustrated joint Boston United manager Rob Scott has accused his players of being "too nice".
The Pilgrims missed the chance to go back to the top of the UniBond Premier League, falling to a 1-0 defeat at Kendal on Saturday.
"I think they are too nice," Scott told BBC Lincolnshire.
"I'm not talking about getting sent off or doing something stupid - I'm talking about being aggressive men, non-league footballers," he added.
"Unfortunately we were too timid. The amount of chances we had were enough to win two games of football."
As well as missed chances, there was controversy when Marc Newsham's second-half effort was judged by the officials not to have crossed the line. But Scott said that decision was not the reason Boston lost the game.
"The game didn't hinge on that one chance - we had plenty of chances," he said.
"The fans will say we were unlucky because that crossed the line, but you can't feel sorry for yourself in this game because someone will take the wallet out of your back pocket while you're standing, moping about.
"Too many times now it's happened where we've dominated games and not killed them off and ultimately it's cost us," he said.
