The frozen area in front of the main stand led to the postponement
Worcester City's much-anticipated FA Trophy tie against county rivals Kidderminster Harriers was called off due to a frozen pitch.
The referee made the decision at 1300 GMT after concerns about an area of the pitch in the shadow of the stand.
The home club had been looking forward to a bumper pay day in order to ease their precarious financial situation.
The tie is now due to be played on Monday, 1 February when the kick off at St George's Lane will be at 1945 GMT.
Worcester City caretaker-manager Carl Heeley told BBC Hereford and Worcester
"The decision has been left very late and looking at the pitch I think we possibly should have called an inspection earlier.
"The pitch is very hard and I think the referee has made the correct decision.
"The referee has said he's not prepared to wait for Steve [Burr, Kidderminster manager] to get here and he's calling it off as it's unplayable and I can understand that as the safety of the players has to come first."
Kidderminster manager Steve Burr told BBC Hereford and Worcester:
"I thought we had seen the worst of the postponements over the December and January period but fingers crossed it is on on Monday.
"You build yourself up for games like this and I was looking forward as I would imagine there might have been over 2,000 here today.
"Maybe Worcester are probably kicking themselves that they hadn't covered that side although it is quite a big area, but we are always wiser with hindsight."
