Bromsgrove Rovers wait for FA decision on club future
The Football Association will decide on the future of Bromsgrove Rovers after creditors refused an offer from the preferred bidder to pay back debts.
The rejection of Mike Ward's offer of five pence in the pound resulted in administrator Andrew Fender proposing Ward buy the club's assets.
However, the plan requires FA approval which, if rejected, is likely to leave the club facing liquidation.
Should the plan be accepted, creditors will receive nothing back.
Rovers could also then face a further 25-point deduction, having lost ten points earlier in the season after going into administration.
Chairman Tom Herbert took that decision in October, a move which he had said would help the Southern League Midland Division club avoid going out of existence.
Herbert took the action after a winding-up petition was brought by former club chairman John Teece and his wife Lynette over monies owed.
Rovers have not played a game since 15 December due to the weather.
The side were runners-up in the Conference in the 1992/93 season. But they then suffered a dramatic fall from grace that saw them tumble through three leagues into the Midland Alliance by 2000/01.
