Gainsborough appoint Gavin Ward as assistant manager
Ward made more then 300 Football League appearances with 11 clubs
Gainsborough Trinity boss Brian Little has appointed veteran goalkeeper Gavin Ward as his assistant manager.
The 39-year-old played under Little at Leicester, Stoke and Wrexham and has been at Zamaretto League side Hednesford Town this season.
Little told BBC Lincolnshire: "He will be a big help around the place, with the goalkeepers here and also to me.
"It will be good to have someone who knows how I've dealt with things over the years talking to me."
Little is aiming to assemble a side largely of players based locally to the club, but admitted he would make an exception in Ward's case.
"Gavin and I will travel together so we won't just have a couple of hours a week here at the club, but several hours together in the car," said Little.
"It will extend the amount of conversation I have with someone alongside me, which I've felt I've needed in recent weeks.
"Everything has been my thoughts, my decisions, so it will be nice to have someone there pointing out how I've dealt with situations in the past."
