Paul Marshall became chairman at Tadcaster Albion in the summer
Tadcaster Albion boss Paul Marshall is aiming for promotion to the Northern Counties East League Premier Division after a good start to the season.
Albion are top of Division One having lost just one league game in 10.
Marshall told BBC Radio York: "We set a target of getting promoted. That target is still there.
"Last year the confidence dipped and we finished third-bottom, so it is a massive factor when you win games of football, you believe you can win."
After a poor year last term Marshall, who is also the club's chairman, said it has been an incredible turnaround of fortune.
"Considering where we were last season and where we are this season I would say it's a remarkable story already," he said.
"It's very similar to when I was at Goole a few years ago. We got a nice home start and we took the games and got points on the board and built confidence from there.
It's a success story waiting to happen. We've just got to make sure on the field and off the field we keep progressing

"It was great. Everybody thought they were unbeatable and it's proving so again this season. They're working really hard for each other every game they play.
"Everyone's enjoying it," he added. "The club's buzzing and we're getting good crowds. It's all looking bright as a manager and chairman.
"I've given all the lads an objective of staying in the top two all season and then we're promoted. They don't want to finish out of those top two."
Marshall said the unusual combination of being manager and chairman is also working well.
"I've got a great band of helpers now. It's a success story waiting to happen. We've just got to make sure on the field and off the field we keep progressing.
"It's interesting. At least I can't sack myself. Not yet anyway!"
