Marshall led Harrogate Railway to the FA Cup second round in 2002
Tadcaster Albion have named manager Paul Marshall as their new chairman, replacing acting chairman Kevin Derry, who has been made club president.
Marshall, who will also continue in his role as manager, told BBC Radio York: "It's a big responsibility being chairman and manager.
"The key thing is really getting everybody working together.
"In the past I think it's been one or two people doing a lot of work and not enough people pulling their weight."
He added: "I'm forthright in my views and won't pull any punches. When we need to do something we will be doing it."
"We've got a new committee formed. There's some new lads coming on to help us out which is what you need to move a club forward."
The club has also announced its biggest ever sponsorship deal after securing five-figure backing from 2inspire, the company owned by former Harrogate Railway chairman Rob Northfield.
Marshall said: "The company coming in is very keen to help Tadcaster Albion.
"Hopefully the two of us will make a great team and we can get a winning team on the field and win promotion - which is something Tadcaster Albion haven't done before."
