Dover hope Hessenthaler will stay

Andy Hessenthaler
Hessenthaler has said he would like to one day return to league management

Dover Athletic chairman Jim Parmenter is hopeful manager Andy Hessenthaler will be able take the club into the Football League in the next two years.

The Whites won promotion for the second successive season on Saturday, by winning the Ryman Premier Division.

They will play in Blue Square South - two divisions off the league.

But Parmenter said: "I think Andy's happy here, He's got an affinity with the club and I think it would take a very good offer to prise him away."

"It's no secret that Andy has said he'd like to manage at league level again.

"I think that would be great if that could be with Dover Athletic in a couple of years time," he added.

The 43-year-old former Gillingham boss has been Dover manager since 2007.
