Hessenthaler previously managed Gillingham at Football League level | Dover Athletic player-manager Andy Hessenthaler has refuted press reports that he has expressed an interest in Brentford's managerial vacancy. The ex-Gillingham boss told Dover's website: "The story is rubbish. "I was interviewed at Brentford a year and a half ago and Leroy Rosenior got the post. "Some journalists like to play guessing games and the Daily Mail have obviously thrown my name into the mix. But I'm enjoying my time at Dover." | 606: DEBATE | Hessenthaler, who was also shortlisted for the Bournemouth job in late 2006 but lost out to Kevin Bond, has been in charge of Dover, who play in Ryman Division One (South), since May 2007. Brentford have been looking for a new boss since parting company with Terry Butcher earlier in the week.
