Ryan joined hometown club Boston from Lincoln City in the summer
Boston United have offered top scorer Ollie Ryan a new contract.
The 23-year-old former Lincoln City striker has scored 22 goals this season despite injury problems in the second half of the campaign.
Chairman David Newton told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "We'd like Ollie to stay but it's up to him really.
"He's still ambitious and would like to play at a higher level. We wouldn't want to stop him doing that so the ball's back in his court really."
Boston-born Ryan also works for the club's Football in the Community operation and Newton says he is an important part of the Unibond Premier Division club.
"It's a bit difficult for him as Steve Welsh has got the job as manager until the end of the season and he's thinking 'if Steve's here that's fine but what if he's not', so he's weighing up his options," Newton explained.
Meanwhile, the Pilgrims have announced plans for a major community and youth programme. It would see a number of teams and activities at every age level through to the first team.
Club officials say it is part of a business plan which should see the club break even in the next two years.
