Former Lincoln City striker Ollie Ryan has said he is delighted to join his hometown club Boston United.

Ryan, who left the Imps towards the end of last season, signed a contract with the Pilgrims earlier this week.

The 23-year-old told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "It has been a difficult decision with United getting relegated but Boston are still a big club.

"I know it's a drop in standard but if you are scoring goals at whatever level, people will have a look at you."

I used to watch Boston every week in the Town End and now I will be running out every week

He added: "Hopefully I can score a few goals to help Boston get promoted and see what happens from there.

"When I was younger I used to watch Boston every week in the Town End and now I will be running out every week."
