Lincoln Ladies extend their lead

Lincoln Ladies have a three-point lead at the top of the Women's Premier League Northern Division after beating Rotherham 7-1 on Sunday.

Stacey Aisthorpe hit four goals while Leandra Little, Amanda Barr and Jodie Michalska all got one each.

Manager Rod Wilson said: "This is some of the best football I've seen a Lincoln side play."

Title rivals Sunderland lost against Manchester City at the weekend but they still have five games in hand.

Wilson added: "All I ask the girls to do is repeat the performance in the last two games of the season to ensure second place.

"If we can do this our chances of promotion to the national division next season must be excellent with the new summer league coming along in 2010."
