Lincoln Ladies extend advantage

Lincoln Ladies FC

Lincoln Ladies extended their lead in the Women's Premier League Northern Division with a 4-2 win at Preston.

Jodie Michalska and Amanda Barr each netted twice, while Preston's goals were both scored by Hannah Bailey.

The Lady Imps now have a five-point advantage over second-placed Sunderland but have played four games more.

Manager Rod Wilson said: "It was not a vintage performance but I'm pleased with the three points and this keeps us in the race for the title."

Lincoln's next match is a difficult trip to fellow promotion chasers Newcastle.

Wilson admitted: "If we go up to Newcastle and perform like that we will be lucky to come away with any points at all and that will be a disaster for our season.

"My players know I need more from them next week and I have confidence in them to deliver a much better performance."
