Provett has made 26 appearances for Harrogate this season

Harrogate Town goalkeeper Jim Provett has joined Blue Square North rivals Gateshead for the rest of the season.

The 26-year-old has become the first player to leave Wetherby Road after the club placed the whole squad on the transfer list.

Provett had been at Harrogate since the summer after spells with Hartlepool United and Bury.

Harrogate transfer listed their whole squad after the players refused to take a pay cut.
