Beckett's goal was his eighth in 10 games for Gainsborough

Luke Beckett's seventh-minute strike gave Gainsborough Trinity a 1-0 victory over Droylsden in Blue Square North.

Beckett played a one-two with Lewis McMahon before rounding goalkeeper Craig Mawson and slotting home.

McMahon later went off with a hamstring injury but Trinity's defence held firm for their first win in three matches.

Manager Steve Charles told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "It wasn't pretty but we got the three points and the lads at the back stood up to the test."
