Dudfield returns to Essex, having played for Southend in 2004-2005
Conference South leaders Chelmsford City have signed Lawrie Dudfield and Erkan Okay as they bid for promotion.
Former Southend United striker Dudfield, 28, joins the Essex side from Cork City, whom he joined last summer from Notts County.
Full-back Okay, an England C international comes joins from Histon.
Meanwhile, Justin Miller, who has been a regular in the Clarets defence this season, has returned to his native South Africa for family reasons.
Chelmsford manager Jeff King said he was delighted to have secured the services of both Dudfield and Okay.
"Just because we're top of the league doesn't mean to say we're perfect," he said.
"So we've just got to push-on and get players like that, and if they're willing to come to us, it's great."
King's side are currently three points ahead of second-placed AFC Wimbledon, and will look to extend that lead further when they host Welling on Saturday.
