James Meredith started his career at Derby after being spotted in his native Australia
On-loan AFC Telford United defender James Meredith has been cleared by parent club Shrewsbury Town to play in the FA Cup for the Bucks this weekend.
Meredith will now be available for the fourth qualifying round tie at Northwich (25 October, 1500 BST).
The Australian-born defender told BBC Radio Shropshire that his move to non-League was needed to revive his career.
"I don't see it as a step down but as a step up, because I've become stagnant at Shrewsbury," said Meredith.
"Don't get me wrong. Shrewsbury are a good club. But I haven't got back into the team since Paul Simpson took over as manager, and I need to be playing."
Meredith joined neighbours Telford on an initial month's loan to help strengthen their push for promotion from the Blue Square North.
