Labadie signed his first pro contract with West Brom in July 2008
A freak training accident has seen Joss Labadie return to West Brom less than a week into his loan at Shrewsbury.
The 18 year-old midfielder landed badly and an X-ray has revealed a fracture in his foot.
"It's a big blow - he had a good debut for us at Bradford, and was looking strong," said Town boss Paul Simpson.
"It's also a blow for Joss, but I've told him I'll keep an eye on him, and if we still need a midfield player when he's fit then we'll look at it again."
The injury has been diagnosed as a fracture of his fifth metatarsal, and Labadie could be out for six weeks.
Labadie signed his first professional deal with the Baggies in the summer and has played for their reserve team where he had attracted Shrewsbury's interest.
He bounced back earlier this season from a toe injury.
Simpson will now target other options to strengthen Shrewsbury's promotion chase. "We're always looking to improve the squad," he told BBC Radio Shropshire.
