Jim Provett is one of Harrogate Town's close season signings
Harrogate Town held Workington to a goalless draw in Blue Square North after a strong performance by goalkeeper Jim Provett.
He made numerous saves including a penalty attempt to make sure his side earned a point from the game.
Town manager Neil Aspin told BBC Radio York: "Obviously he made a penalty save but his overall goalkeeping has been very good.
"He's a very good goalkeeper and everybody is grateful to him tonight.
"I think I said on Saturday after the game he's definitely improved us in goal. He's done exceptionally well."

Harrogate Town beat Vauxhall Motors on Saturday in their first game of the season but Aspin was disappointed with that performance. However he was happier with the way his team had played at Workington.
"Workington have shown tonight they're a good team. They pushed us very hard especially in the second half. They got on top of the game and I don't think it's going to be an easy place for anyone to come this season so I'm please with a point.
"I did feel that we did finish strongly and we had a couple of good chances ourselves at the end but all in all you can't be disappointed with a point."
After a big turnover of players during the summer Aspin said his squad are taking time to get to know each other but he will not use that as an excuse for any poor performances.
"We had to bring in different players and change the team round. But they've had pre-season to play together and a couple of games now so it won't be because they're not gelling.
"It'll just be because there are reasons. It depends how strong the opposition are. But I'm not going to use it as an excuse. They've got time to play together.
"I think they know each other's strengths and weaknesses and its up to us to play to those strengths and hopefully we can do that."
