Keith Webb led King's Lynn into the Blue Square North for the first time time in their history

King's Lynn began life in Blue Square North by getting a creditable draw away from home at Burscough.

The Linnets held their opponents to a 1-1 draw after taking an early lead through new signing Simon Weaver.

The Southern League champions have never played in the sixth tier before and held onto their advantage until Tony Evans' 73rd-minute leveller.

Lynn's first ever home match at Conference level is against Redditch United on Tuesday.
