Manager Rob Smith emphasised AFC Telford's ambitions by complaining that his side "only drew" their opening game of the new season at Stalybridge.
"I'm disappointed we didn't get three points, but that's how we're setting out our stall," he told BBC Shropshire.
"You saw two good teams who'll both be there come May, but we're up and running so I can't complain too much."
The Bucks came from behind via goals from Jon Adams and Andy Brown, before conceding a 71st-minute equaliser.
Terry Fearns could have clinched it when Telford were 2-1 up, but the normally dependable striker fired wide.
