Stevens was released by Birmingham City at the end of last season (OTMP)
AFC Telford United have fought off stiff competition to capture the signing of Birmingham City forward Jarred Stevens on non-contract terms.
Stevens began his career with West Brom and goes into the squad for Saturday's season opener with Stalybridge.
Telford boss Rob Smith said he was delighted to bring the 18-year-old to the New Bucks Head.
"There are a few Blue Square premier clubs who have shown an interest," Smith told BBC Radio Shropshire.
"I can't ask to be in any better shape than we're in, we are more than ready. I think Stalybridge is a great fixture for us," added Smith.
"It's anyone's call who can win that game. If we can get three points there it sets us up nicely."
Telford will be without striker Matty Lewis who broke his leg in the pre-season friendly with Cheltenham Town. Defenders Jimmy Turner and Simon Forsdick are still recovering from injuries picked up last season.
