Barrow co-manager Dave Bayliss thinks his side can compete in the Blue Square Premier after winning the North play-off final against Stalybridge.

Matt Henney scored the only goal at Burton on Friday to secure promotion.

Bayliss told the club website: "Hopefully we'll hold our own and won't embarrass ourselves. I'm sure we won't.

"We want to have a good go. We're not just going in to make up the numbers. We want to compete. We belong at a higher level than Conference North."

Bayliss had special praise for goalscoring hero Henney.

"That's why he plays, because he can do that. Even when he's not at his best, he can still nick a goal for us. He's done that again."
