Nervous Telford fans ahead of Sunday's play-off second leg
AFC Telford United suffered heartbreak in the Blue Square North play-offs as they succumbed to a second 2-0 defeat by Barrow to bow out 4-0 on aggregate.
Rob Smith's men twice went close before going behind in cruel fashion, Dave Roberts deflecting into his own net.
Asa Charlton then had a near miss, Ian Holmes' shot was saved and Barrow had to clear a scramble off the line.
But, with Telford going for broke, Paul Tait broke away to shock the 4,000-plus Bucks Head crowd with a second.
In-form Barrow, who extended their unbeaten run to 20 games, will now play Stalybridge Celtic (conquerors of Southport on penalties) in Friday night's final.
But Telford are left licking their wounds and pondering on a season that exceeded expectations, only to end in disappointment right at the death.
