 | STADIUM FACTS Location: Tunis Capacity: 60,000 Club: Olympic Kef |
The 60,000-capacity stadium is almost a miniature model of the Stade de France in Paris. It was completed in 2001 just in time for the country to stage the Mediterranean Games the same year.
Ironically, Tunisia's first senior international at the venue was against the former world champions France on 21 August 2002.
Situated 20km (12 miles) from Tunis centre, it has been included in Tunisia's 2010 World Cup bid package.
Away from the stadium
The stadium lies on the quieter outskirts of Tunis but visitors to the area can take one of the regular buses that travel to the centre of the capital.
