This is one of the oldest venues in the country and has been used since the late 1930s.

When Tunisia staged the African Cup of Nations in 1965 it was used for one group game between Ivory Coast and Congo-Leopoldville (now RDC).

It is home to one of Tunisia's big sides, Club Sportive Sfaxien, who won the Caf Cup in 1998.

The 20,000-capacity venue was shut down for part of 2003 for renovation.

Away from the stadium

The stadium is located in Tunisia's second largest city, Sfax.

It lies halfway down the east coast of the country and is a quiet port almost devoid of tourists.

The local markets, restaurants and shops cater for the residents rather visitors, and the goods sold are often cheaper than those found in other resorts in Tunisia.

There are plenty of places to visit in this old town, such as the 17th century villa Dar Jellouli and the city's Great Mosque.

It is also worth checking out Kerkennah Islands, by taking one of the local ferries.
