Frenchman Henri Stambouli has been confirmed as coach of FAR Rabat

Frenchman Henri Stambouli has been confirmed as the new coach of Confederation Cup holders FAR Rabat of Morocco.

The 44-year-old former Marseille goalkeeper replaces Mohamed Fakhir, who took over as Morocco's nationalcoach in January.

It is the fourth African assignment in just over two years for Stambouli, who took Mali to the semi-finals of the 2004 African Nations Cup and then coached at Raja Casablanca in Morocco and Tunisia's Club Africain.

One of his first tasks will be to turn round a 2-1 defecit against APR of Rwanda from the first leg of the second round of the African Champions League, the second leg is this weekend.
