Frenchman Henri Stambouli is the new coach of Raja Casablanca |
Moroccan champions Raja Casablanca have appointed Frenchman Henri Stambouli as their new coach. The former Mali coach is set to replace sacked compatriot Alain Fiard.
Raja, who are currently fourth in the league, have given Stambouli a one-year contract, according to the club's president Hamid Souiri.
Financial terms of the deal, however have not been disclosed.
The Algeria-born Stambouli coached Tunisia's Club Africain until October when he was fired after only six matches of the new season.
An Olympique Marseille goalkeeper in his playing days has had spells coaching Guinea, Swiss club Sion and France's Sedan.
The 43 year old was in charge of Mali earlier this year and took the west African country to the African Cup of Nations semi-finals in Tunisia.
