Jay-Jay Okocha has confirmed he is ready to resume contract talks with Bolton Wanderers after the club virtually guaranteed their Premiership status on Monday.
Last month, the Nigeria captain put contract negotiations on hold until the end of the season saying he wanted to focus on matters on the pitch.
Yet Bolton's 2-1 victory over Wolves has lifted the Trotters to twelfth place in the table and ten points clear of the relegation zone.
With the threat of relegation seemingly averted, Okocha is now eager to renew the contract extension talks he had initially asked Bolton chairman Phil Gartside to postpone.
"We're in a better position now and I don't have to be difficult to deal with," the Nigerian midfielder said.
"I think I'll be more relaxed now and we can carry on the negotiations."
Bolton have made it clear they are keen to keep Okocha, whose current deal expires at the end of the season.
Okocha joined Bolton on a free transfer from French side Paris Saint-Germain in 2002.
The Nigerian has played 61 league games for the Trotters, scoring seven goals in the process.
