Okocha open to offers
Nigeria and Bolton striker Jay-Jay Okocha
Okocha want Bolton to offer him a new deal before June
Bolton's Jay-Jay Okocha may consider a move away from the Reebok Stadium when his contract ends in June.

The Nigeria midfielder told BBC Radio Five Live's Sportsweek programme he is open to offers after he returns from the African Cup of Nations.

"If I get any other good deal I might consider it," he said.

"I can't wait for them (Bolton) until the end of the season to make a decision. I have to be looking at other places."

Okocha added that he would like Bolton to come and offer him a new contract as soon as he returns from international duty.

Meanwhile, Okocha has been concentrating on helping Nigeria reach the quarter-finals of the Cup of Nations, although most of the headlines concerning the team have been to do with their off-the-field problems.

Okocha cited poor pre-tournament preparations for his side's opening defeat to Morocco, while team officials have also had to send three players home from Tunisia as a result of alleged indiscipline.

"I think it was a hard decision," said Okocha.

"Sometimes we all make mistakes. It's like they have been waiting for people to make mistakes and they were unlucky to be the ones."

The trio sent away from the squad were Chelsea's Celestine Babayaro, Portsmouth striker Yakubu Ayegbeni and Schalke 04 star Victor Agali.
