Okocha is out of contract at the end of the season |
Jay-Jay Okocha says he may be prepared to finish his career at Carling Cup finalists Bolton Wanderers. The 30-year-old captain's contract expires in the summer and talks have begun about a new deal.
"If I'm not going to move, I might end my career at Bolton. That is something I have to think about and consider," Okocha told BBC Radio Five Live.
"My family must play a role - I have to make the right decision for them. We are having a great time."
Okocha denied that a Bolton victory in the Carling Cup final against Middlesbrough - and the European place which follows - would alter his decision.
"That won't have anything to do with it," he said.
"We have not been in Europe the past two years and I have been happy here. Getting into Europe would be a bonus, that's all.
"There is a possibility I will stay but I'm not promising anything. I have to wait for the offer as well."
A Bolton spokesman denied that Okocha would sign a new deal before Sunday's final in Cardiff.
Okocha is one of a number of players who will be out of contract at the end of the season.
Allardyce knows some of his squad could be tempted to stay with the prospect of Uefa Cup matches to come.
"A load more players will want to come and play for Bolton," he said.
"If we do get into Europe the players here will all want to stay and hopefully continue our progress."
