Guernsey Under-18s manager Paul Ockleford has focused on the positives after his side crashed out of the Mick Parry Trophy.
Guernsey lost 4-2 to Gloucestershire in the semi-finals of the regional cup at Sylvans' ground in St Peters.
Ockleford told BBC Guernsey: "I thought we did what we needed to do which was get the ball in behind them.
"The more we did it the more chances we created, so I thought we did really well, but not on the score line sadly."
He added: "It was a huge turnaround compared to the last game we had which was really pleasing."
The team received a bye to get to the last four of the Mick Parry Trophy, which is the knockout version of the South West Counties Championship.
