Guernsey FA consider new social leagues

Football

Guernsey Football Association (GFA) is considering setting up its own social league system.

Guernsey already has existing social leagues, but they are not connected to the GFA.

Rod Hamon, president and secretary of the Core Focus Sunday Soccer League, told BBC Guernsey a new GFA league is unlikely to tempt their teams away.

"We're happy with what we've got at the moment, so we're not looking to get back to being re-affiliated."

"The GFA have approached us a few times about it over the past couple of years," Hamon said.

"We've only got a limited amount of games we play each weekend and we've got ample enough pitches to accommodate it."

No firm decision on whether to proceed with the new leagues has been made by the GFA.
