St Paul's boss Craig Culkin badly wants Upton victory
Culkin has now won three consecutive league trophies with St Paul's
A season in which they have already won four trophies will be a disappointment for St Paul's if they fail to become Channel Island champions.
The Jersey club travel to Guernsey to play Belgrave Wanderers for the Upton Trophy this weekend.
Manager Craig Culkin said defeat in 'The Upton' would be hard to swallow.
"We set out this season to retain both our league title and the Upton," Culkin told BBC Radio Jersey. "That's exactly what we are hoping to achieve."
St Paul's won the Upton last season, but lost it two years ago against this year's opponents, Belgraves.
"Maybe two years ago it didn't seem so important," Culkin recalls. "We had just won our first league title under my tenure."
There was good news for Culkin with the injury doubt for striker Craig Leitch now gone. "He trained on Thursday and will be available for the match. Everyone is sharp, and confidence is high."
With four trophies in the bag, victory in the Upton and then in next week's Wheway Cup final against Portuguese Club will create Jersey football history; no side has ever won six trophies in one season.
