The Isle of Man's Under-18s football team lost 2-0 to Sheffield and Hallamshire in the second round of the FA County Youth Cup on Saturday.

The Manx side dominated the first half but it was Sheffield and Hallam's Stephen Atkinson who opened the scoring on the stroke of half-time.

Nick Galloway doubled their advantage in the second half to book their place in the third round.

Island Manager Kevin Manning said: "We are very disappointed to lose."

Only three of the squad that reached the semi-final in 2008 were available for selection against Sheffield and Hallamshire.

And Manning added: "This is a squad full of talent and we we will learn from this experience."

The game was played at Doncaster Rovers' Keepmoat Stadium.
