Andrew Pitt finished 11th in the final round of the Supersport Championship

Andrew Pitt finished the World Supersport Championship campaign in sixth place overall after coming home 11th in Sunday's final round in Portugal.

Eugene Laverty won the race, with Pitt's Turkish team-mate Kenan Sofuoglu second and Garry McCoy third.

"I guess it just hasn't been my year," said Pitt. "I'd like to thank the crew for all the efforts they've made to turn things around."

British rider Cal Crutchlow finished fourth to claim the overall title.
