Cimandis has sponsored Jersey football for five years
Cimandis, the company that distributes Coca Cola in Jersey, will end its sponsorship of the Jersey Football Combination at the end of this season.
Paul Luxon, the managing director of the distributors, has said it is not because of the financial crisis, but a re-allocation of marketing funds.
"At our annual marketing review, we decided to not renew our sponsorship of the Combination or Murrati," he said.
"We have had a great relationship with the JFC and wish them all the best."
Jersey Football Combination president Tim Darwin said he was devastated but understood the decision.
I think we've got a great product and I'm confident that someone will see us as a good marketing investment
Jersey Football Combination president Tim Darwin
"It's clearly disappointing when your sponsor announces that they're not going to carry on.
"But I think we need to look back positively at the commitment and support we have been given by Cimandis and Coca Cola over the five years and now move forward."
The deal, worth over 20,000 a year, went primarily into grassroots football and Darwin's priority now is to find a replacement sponsor for the beginning of the 2009/10 season.
"It's going to be difficult to find a new sponsor but I think we've got a great product, we are loyal and give good coverage; I'm confident that someone will see us as a good marketing investment," he said.
