Belgrave Wanderers are now three points clear at the top of Guernsey's Senior County League Division One after North were held to a 2-2 draw by Sylvans.
Bels ran out 2-1 winners over Vale Rec at the Corbet Field to record their seventh consecutive win.
But across the road at Northfield, second-from-bottom Sylvans held second-placed North to a 2-2 draw.
It means the title could be all but over if Bels beat North when they meet at the Track on Saturday, 28 February.
A win for Bels would leave them six points clear with two games to go, although those two games are away to St Martin's and at home to North.
In the day's other game St Martin's moved into third place after thrashing Rangers 8-2 at St Andrew's.
