Loveridge won the title despite being just 14 years old |
Guernsey's Alice Loveridge got revenge on Andover's Hannah Hicks by claiming the Under-21 title at the Salisbury Table Tennis Open at the weekend. Previously Hicks had beaten Loveridge in the band one tournament final and the semi-finals of the women's singles. Loveridge, four years younger than 18-year-old Hicks, took the first game 12-10 but lost the second 5-11. Loveridge took a hard-fought third match 11-8 and then the fourth 11-5, which sealed the win.
